Youth Programs

 

BlazeSports provides a variety of sport and recreation programs for kids and teens with physical challenges. We provide athletes with training, support and the opportunity to increase independence and improve health. Whether you want to compete on a team, try something new, stay fit and healthy or meet new friends our programs have something for everyone.

Jr. Wheelchair Basketball

This 7-month program gives youth athletes (ages 7 – seniors in high school) the opportunity to compete on the BlazeSports Atlanta Jr. Hawks Wheelchair Basketball team (prep or varsity), which is a member of the National Wheelchair Basketball Association (NWBA).

Track & Field

BlazeSports America’s Track and Field Program offers recreational and competitive training opportunities for athletes ages 6-22 with physical disabilities. Athletes can participate in a range of events from track, to discus, to shot put, to the long jump, that cater to their specific ability and interests.

Swimming

BlazeSports Swimming Programs are for youth ages 6 to 22 years old with physical disabilities who want to learn how to swim or are looking to get ready to compete.

No experience is required to participate in the Learn to Swim program, however, experience is required for our Competitive Swim Program.

Wheelchair Tennis

The BlazeSports Wheelchair Tennis Program is open for athletes of all skill levels, recreational or competitive. Our Coaches have years of experience with wheelchair tennis and will work with our athletes to develop their skills such as: chair maneuvering, swing technique, rules, positioning, and more!

Camp Phoenix

BlazeSports Camp Phoenix, located at Camp Twin Lakes in Winder GA, gives kids and teens with a physical disability, a chance to learn and participate in a variety of adaptive sports and recreational activities, while building leadership and self-advocacy skills, developing greater independence, and making lifelong friends.

BlazeSports Youth Athlete Council

The BlazeSports Youth Athlete Council is a group of dedicated young athletes who are passionate about adaptive sports and making a difference. As a council member, you’ll have the chance to advocate, plan events, lead, and engage with the community. Our program supports leadership development, college readiness skills, and career transitioning for our youth athletes.

BlazeTOTS

BlazeTOTS is a new BlazeSports initiative that aims to increase opportunities for preschoolers with disabilities to be physically active and eat healthy.

Ready to join us?

The annual membership fee allows participants the opportunity to participate in an unlimited number of BlazeSports America programs each year from wheelchair basketball to swimming to track & field and more. Membership also includes new sport clinics so that athletes can try new sports and activities. The membership fee for BlazeSports Youth Programs is $100 each year.
