Youth Spotlight Paul Sturtz

Presenting our September Youth Spotlight: Paul Sturtz!

Paul DuPre Sturtz has been a dedicated member of BlazeSports for just over a year, making an impact in wheelchair basketball. His hard work and determination have helped him grow as an athlete, and he continues to push himself each season. One of his proudest achievements came in 2023 at the Rocky Mount Tournament, where he scored six points. Another unforgettable moment for him was scoring his first-ever basket at the Clemson Tournament during his debut game.

Paul describes himself as funny, brave, and kind—qualities that shine both on and off the court. His journey has been nothing short of inspiring. In August 2020, he was diagnosed with bone cancer and underwent limb salvage surgery, demonstrating remarkable resilience. Despite the challenges, he continues to approach life with courage and positivity.

As we celebrate National Youth Sports Week and recognize Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, we are honored to highlight Paul’s strength, perseverance, and love for the game. His story is a testament to the power of sports and the incredible impact of perseverance.

Keep striving for greatness, Paul! Your dedication and spirit inspire us all. 🔥🏀
