Meet Retired Sgt. Cecilia Loren, our October Veteran Spotlight. Cecilia served as a Military Police Officer in the Army National Guard for nine years, dedicating herself to protecting others. While deployed overseas in Afghanistan in 2012, she sustained an injury that ultimately changed the course of her journey.
Throughout her service, Cecilia found fulfillment in her work, especially in learning about and maintaining a variety of weapons. However, her passion for new challenges didn’t stop there. While recovering at Walter Reed, she discovered the world of adaptive sports, diving into archery and air rifle. These sports provided not only an outlet for competition but also a renewed sense of purpose.
Outside of sports, Cecilia is a multifaceted individual with a love for baking, singing, swimming, reading, writing, and hunting. Her talents and interests keep her engaged, but she still longed for a stronger sense of community. After retiring, she spent seven years feeling disconnected, searching for a place where she truly belonged.
That search ended when she found BlazeSports. Since joining, her life has changed in countless ways. BlazeSports has given her a reason to get out of the house, connect with others, and rediscover joy in everyday activities. More than just a sports organization, Blaze has become a family—a support system that has welcomed her with open arms.
Cecilia, we are honored to have you as part of BlazeSports and look forward to continuing this journey with you. Your resilience and determination inspire us all. Here’s to many more years of growth, success, and camaraderie! 🔥🏹🎯
