Celebrating Our March Alumni Spotlight: Abby!
As a former Blaze athlete and proud Class of 2022 graduate, Abby Coffin competed in wheelchair tennis and basketball. Her dedication didn’t end when she graduated—she continues to embody the spirit of BlazeSports by returning as an alumna to assist with basketball practices, serve as a lead camp counselor at Camp Phoenix, and play in our alumni games. Abby is someone we can always count on; whenever there’s a need, she responds with enthusiasm and commitment.
Currently, Abby shines as a collegiate wheelchair basketball player at the University of Arizona, where she is pursuing a major in Rehabilitation Studies and Services, along with double minors in Psychology and Sport & Recreation. Her time at BlazeSports played a key role in her development as an athlete and leader, helping her gain the confidence and skills needed to excel at the collegiate level.
One of Abby’s most cherished memories is returning each summer as a counselor for Camp Phoenix, our annual summer camp for youth with disabilities. She is a dedicated and inspiring leader, creating an inclusive and fun environment for our young campers, and helping them grow and make lasting memories.
Through BlazeSports, Abby has learned not to define herself by her weaknesses but to focus on her strengths—a mindset that continues to guide her in athletics, academics, and beyond.
We are immensely proud of Abby’s achievements thus far and can’t wait to see what she achieves next. #BearDown #NationalWomensMonth
