Alumni Spotlight: Sam Fraser
Sam Fraser has been part of the BlazeSports community for 12 years, participating in a wide range of programs including wheelchair basketball, wheelchair tennis, track and field, and many others such as swimming, archery, and Blaze Camp. Her time at Blaze has been filled with growth, teamwork, and unforgettable moments.
Sam is currently a collegiate student-athlete at the University of Arizona, majoring in Leadership and Learning Innovation with a minor in Animal Science. BlazeSports played a pivotal role in her life, introducing her to wheelchair basketball. She was also recognized as our Youth Athlete of the Year at the 2022 Triumph Awards Gala and was featured on a television show for adaptive sports, showcasing her talent and impact.
One of Sam’s favorite Blaze memories is spending time with her teammates in the hotel during tournaments. She has also given back to the Blaze community by serving as a camp counselor at Camp Phoenix, our youth summer camp. Her experiences at Blaze continue to shape her confidence, drive, and love for adaptive sports.
We are so proud to celebrate Sam’s accomplishments and all that she has achieved as a Blaze athlete and now a college competitor #BearDown
