Youth Spotlight John Grimsley

Introducing our February Youth Spotlight: John Grimsley!

John has been a dedicated BlazeSports athlete for four years, competing in wheelchair basketball, wheelchair tennis, and track and field. He takes great pride in earning a starting spot on the prep basketball team. One of his favorite memories is racing around the tennis courts with friends after practice, laughing and creating unforgettable moments.

Beyond sports, John is a strong advocate for adaptive athletics. He recently won a competition to become “Mayor for the Day” by writing an essay on improving building accessibility and establishing a wheelchair sports team in Gainesville, GA. What an incredible achievement—way to go, John!

John’s personality brightens every room, bringing warmth and enthusiasm wherever he goes. His determination pushes him to improve in every sport he plays. Whether on the court or track, he gives his best effort and encourages those around him. His humor keeps teammates smiling, turning practices into fun and memorable experiences.

Each week, we witness his unwavering commitment and positive energy. He tackles challenges head-on and never backs down from an opportunity to grow. His passion for adaptive sports is clear in everything he does. We’re proud to support him and can’t wait to see what he achieves next!
