May Youth Spotlight Ben Vondrak

We’re excited to highlight Ben Vondrak as our May Youth Spotlight! Ben has been a part of the BlazeSports family for an incredible 11 years. During that time, he has participated in wheelchair basketball, track & field, tennis, and Blaze Camp. Along the way, he has grown into both a strong athlete and a confident leader.

Ben takes great pride in competing at the national level in track and field. He has earned medals in nearly every event he’s entered. Most recently, he won 1st place in the Boys Wheelchair 800 at the GHSA State Track Championships—an impressive milestone that reflects his hard work and dedication.

In 2023, BlazeSports honored Ben as Youth Athlete of the Year at the Triumph of the Human Spirit Awards Gala. This award recognized not just his talent, but also his perseverance, character, and commitment to excellence.

When asked about his favorite Blaze memories, Ben points to nightly track practices. He especially enjoys the moments between workouts—laughing with teammates, bonding with coaches, and creating lasting friendships.

Ben describes himself as positive, encouraging, and competitive—qualities that motivate everyone around him.

Ben, your passion for adaptive sports and your years of dedication truly stand out. We’re so proud of you and can’t wait to see what you accomplish next! 🔥
