Jordan Paralympic Sport Development Program

BlazeSports Jordan Paralympic Sport Development Project, which was delivered with supporting partners, was a field-based sports initiative aimed at children and youths with disabilities. The project aimed to increase access, for those in Jordan with disabilities, to quality sport and recreation opportunities. The project also was designed to help to train current service providers to ensure a lasting legacy of disability sports provision within the country.

To this end, project enhanced the knowledge and expertise individuals from a variety or backgrounds such as coaches, educators, sport managers, referees, classifiers, and students in sport and recreation programming. Those who attended the organized course were also be given the opportunity to apply their knowledge in a practical setting.

Some of our project highlights include:

  • Disability sport workshops that provide attendees information on the specific considerations and practical solutions that are relevant when working with those with disabilities.
  • The provision of sport-specific Train the Trainer courses which provide based experts with additional knowledge to disseminate to those working at a grassroots level.
  •  Increased awareness and opportunity for those with disabilities to participate in sport through the organization of festivals and clinics.
