BlazeCamps are residential summer camps, lasting two to five days/nights, that provide youth with a physical disability or visual impairment an opportunity to meet new friends, become more independent and self-confident, learn or enhance skills in a variety of sports and recreational activities, and most of all just have plain old fun!

All camps are facilitated under the direct supervision of Recreation Specialists with a 1:5 staff-to-camper ratio. A registered and licensed nurse is also part of the staff team. All camp counselors attend a pre-camp orientation and training.

Here’s what some parents said about 2009 BlazeCamp…

He made several friends while at camp and he is looking forward to next year's camp. He was so happy when I picked him up and it has definitely made a difference for him in his confidence and having friends who do not judge him for his disability. He absolutely loved it and if you are having one this fall, he will be there!

He has a great attitude and made some good friends. Especially with the counselors.

All he talks about is wanting to join a BlazeSports team.

Blazecamp was the first time my son had ever been away from home without parents or family. In the last year since he 1st attended in 2008, he has begun coming and going to school unattended and letting himself in and out of the house in other words being much more independent. I believe camp gave him the courage to be more independent. More independent and established friendships.
