Annual Conference on Disability Sport
2010 Conference a Success
Thanks to everyone who attended the conference! Over 100 registered participants, speakers and special guests participated in the 2 ½ day conference at the scenic Marriott Evergreen Conference Resort in Stone Mountain Park near Atlanta, Georgia. In addition to the great line up of informative workshops, and keynote speakers – Duncan Wyeth, Darcy Eikenberg and Dr. Jimmy Calloway inspired, connected and encouraged all to be leaders, innovators and champions of change.
The tribute to Randy Snow, beloved BlazeSports Board Member, was very touching and inspiring to everyone in attendance. The "snow" was very symbolic and did not deter conference participants who came from all corners of the United States, Canada, Nepal and Uganda. Conference participants were the first to receive the newly released "BlazeSports Reinvented" portfolio of programs and witness the unveiling of the BlazeSports Leadership Academy S-Now Curriculum which honors the work of Randy Snow.
Conference participants all received BlazeSport's "Ricky Played" a newly published book from TorchRunner Press, dedicated to Randy Snow.
Here’s what some of the conference participants had to say:
"I've attended other conferences where disability sports sessions were offered, but this conference provides exactly what I need to develop my programs -- all in one place."
"The hands-on training sessions, sports technical information and the session on working with government officials can easily be applied to our organization's activities."
"The Disability Sports Technician Certification will give me and my organization greater credibility in our work developing Paralympic sport.
"We've got lots of ideas and we can't wait to get home and share what we learned."
“great conference…fabulous information”
“…thank you so much for all that you [BlazeSports] do… from this conference to the webinars to the ongoing technical assistance”
