Daniel J. Holland, Chairman
Former Chief Operating Officer for Hewitt Associates, the world leader in HR pioneering, breakthrough ideas, services and products for clients that include more than half the FORTUNE 500® and more than a third of the FORTUNE Global 500® companies. He is a sports enthusiast and father of an athlete with physical disability.
William Scott, Vice Chairman
Former partner at Hewitt Associates where he managed the Canadian (Toronto) and European (Paris) as well as the Mid-Atlantic (Washington DC) regions during his career.
Steve Frederick, Treasurer
Financial Advisor at Edward Jones Investments. Former naval aviator with 22 years of military service in the U.S. Navy. Steve and his family have participated in BlazeSports programs since the inception of the organization in 1996. He is a parent of a young, emerging elite athlete with physical disability
Carol Mushett Johnson, Secretary
Carol Mushett Johnson is responsible for the overall operations of BlazeSports America, Inc. As chief executive officer, she provides leadership, supervision and strategic guidance for the organization. Carol has over 30 years experience in Paralympic sport, rehabilitation services, higher education and nonprofit leadership. She was elected by the International Paralympic Committee General Assembly (assembly of nations) as the Technical Officer and Chairman of the Sports Council for two terms of office from 1997-2004 during which time Carol oversaw the sport technical operations, rules, qualification processes and Games development for the Nagano, Sydney, Salt Lake City and Athens Paralympic Games. Carol is one of only five Americans to have received the Paralympic Order which is the highest honor bestowed by the International Paralympic Committee. She also served on the Salt Lake Olympic Organizing Committee Board of Trustees.
Andrew McNeil, Esq.
Intellectual Property and Technology Litigation Practices Associate with the Atlanta law firm of Morris, Manning & Martin, LLP. Mr. McNeil is a part-time instructor at the Georgia Institute of Technology, where he teaches “Public Policy Mock Trial,” a trial advocacy survey course, and is an assistant coach to the Georgia Tech Mock Trial Team.
Tim Willis, Esq.
US Paralympics Grants Manager and practicing attorney. Inducted into the Georgia Southern University Athletic Hall of Fame in 2006, Tim was the first totally blind student-athlete to compete in NCAA Division I cross-country. A few of his athletic achievements include World Record holder in the 10,000 meter track event, Silver Medalist in 10,000 meters at the 1996 Atlanta Paralympic Games and Bronze Medalist 10,000 meters at the 2000 Sydney Paralympic Games.
Dr. Jimmy Calloway, PhD
Professor at Kennesaw State University’s Wellstar College of Health and Human Services and the Executive Director of the Georgia Coalition for Physical Activity and Nutrition. Dr. Calloway has an extensive academic career in the therapeutic recreation and leisure studies as well as public speaking, advocacy and fundraising. He is a former elite athlete.
The Honorable Michael Thurmond
Michael Thurmond is the Commissioner of the Georgia Department of Labor. He oversees operations of this important state agency which provides a wide range of services to job seekers and employers. These include administration of Georgia’s unemployment insurance, employment service, and vocational rehabilitation programs; provision of workforce information to the public and private sectors; inspection of boilers, pressure vessels, and amusement park and carnival rides; and oversight of child labor issues.
Duncan O. Wyeth
Duncan Wyeth was a member of the US Olympic Committee’s Board of Directors from 1990-98, a member of the USOC’s Committee on Sports for the Disabled from 1983-2000, a member of the USOC’s Member Services and Grants Committee form 1992-96 and the USOC’s President’s Committee on Vertical Integration of Paralympic Sport from 1998-2000. He was a competitive discus thrower and accomplished cyclist competing in the 1988 Seoul Paralympic Games. Duncan was also a member of the US Paralympic Team staff delegation for the 1992 Barcelona Paralympic Games and the Chef de Mission for Team USA at the 1996 Atlanta Paralympic Games.
